Kootenay
Outfitters territory is located 3 (three) hours South/Southwest of
Calgary, Alberta and 3 (three) hours North of the border crossing
Port of Roosville, Montana. Our area borders Kootenay National Park
to the West, Banff National Park to the East and Mount Assiniboine
Provincial Park to the North.
Our territory is 10 (ten) miles East of Radium Hot Springs, British Columbia. We are close to tourist attractions and year round outdoor attractions. Located in South Eastern British Columbia, our territory is in the heart of Canada's Rocky Mountains. This area is call the Kootenay Region of B.C. Our territory covers approximately 900 square miles of some of the best big game hunting found in North America. Our area's terrain varies from the majestic mountain peaks covered with glaciers in the North to the expanse of the river valley to the South. High alpine meadows can be found throughout the area along with log blocks, creating ideal habitat for the many different species found there.
Motor
vehicles are not permitted in two thirds of our
area resulting in
true back country experience. Horses are our main mode of
transportation. We have excellent pack and saddle horses to aid the
hunter with travel within the territory. Three sets of cabins are
used to house our hunters along with several spike camps to access
remote drainages. We have experienced
guides and staff to assist our hunters during their stay. For
those not interested in horseback hunt, 4x4 hunts are also
available.

We offer fully guided big game hunts for twelve different species. Archery or rifle hunts are available starting September 1st and ending with our predator hunts in late winter.
